PLANT‑0016 PLANTER

The PLANT‑0016 geometric planter transforms the simple act of containing foliage into a sculptural experience by enveloping a rounded form in an organic, cellular lattice. Each elongated, ovoid aperture weaves seamlessly into its neighbors, creating a porous shell that both supports and celebrates the plant within. The lattice’s irregular honeycomb pattern evokes natural systems—reminiscent of coral polyps or plant parenchyma—while maintaining a disciplined symmetry that anchors its visual rhythm. Proportions are carefully calibrated to balance the vessel’s 16.5 cm diameter and 9.4 cm height, ensuring a low center of gravity and a stable presence on tabletops or windowsills. Ambient light filters through the voids, casting intricate, kinetic shadows that dance across nearby surfaces, and the scalloped rim formed by the lattice’s undulating peaks draws the eye upward toward new growth. Conceptually, PLANT‑0016 reframes the planter as an interactive framework: the porous envelope both contains soil and roots and invites users to observe the hidden life within. Tactile engagement is encouraged as fingertips trace the smooth, curved edges of each cell wall, experiencing the gentle tension between solidity and openness. By merging biomorphic morphology with architectural precision, this design transcends mere functionality. It becomes a focal artifact that animates interior spaces through evolving light, texture, and a deepened dialogue between human touch, crafted form, and living greenery.

How are the planter made?

Modern 3D printing technology is used to produce the KAWAIR 3DESIGN planter.
This is how the extraordinary and delicate structure of the planter can be created - while at the same time being very light. We paid particular attention to sustainability and quality when it came to the material used. - a bio-plastic made from corn starch - we have paid particular attention to sustainability and quality.

What material are the planter made of?

The 3D planter from KAWAIR 3DESIGN are made of polylactide (PLA for short), which is also colloquially known as polylactic acid and is often referred to as  ''o-plastic''. PLA is made up of lactic acid molecules that are created during the fermentation of corn starch or sugar cane.
Although PLA does not grow on trees or bushes and is therefore produced synthetically, it is biodegradable due to its ingredients and is therefore a great alternative to non-degradable plastic with similar properties.

Why are high temperatures damaging the planter?

If the planter is exposed to high temperatures (e.g. in direct sunlight behind a window), the material can lose stability, causing the planter to warp. A series of tests carried out over a few weeks came to the conclusion that this can happen , but does not happen in every case.
However, we expressly point out that there is a possibility that the planter can deform at temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius.

Can I put water in the planter ?

The 3D printing planter themselves are not waterproof due to their manufacturing process. Water would leak out through the planter. Since a planter wouldn't be a real planter if you couldn't offer a place to water a bouquet of fresh meadow flowers or a long-stemmed rose, there are our special waterproof inserts. Such an insert is supplied free of charge with every planter.
The insert is cylindrical and can be filled with water. Due to its narrow shape, it only has slightly less filling volume than the actual planter. So remember to place the insert before using the planter with water.
If the planter is only filled with dried flowers, you obviously do not need it - but you should of course keep it.

Can I have an item in a different colour/size?

All our items are homemade and can be made in a range of colours and sizes. If you can't find what you're looking for, or want something in a different selection, please drop me a message for custom requests.
